Hi,

I use an ATI Radeon (9200). I cannot see all of the display from the menus etc (i.e. Left, Right, Top, Bottom) are off the screen. All TV / Video though appear to output without anything missing. I am using the ATI defaults for TV-OUT, is there anything I am missing?

I have an ATI 9250 and found i had a better display with the omega drivers http://www.omegadrivers.net/
Are you using the tv out. Have you tried to lower your refresh rate/change your monitor properties.
Is your ATI displays panel/monitor/attributes panel /refresh rate set to disabled

Thanks,

Will try the new driver out. My ATI driver is setting tvout as default (I only have one monitor) and is forcing the refresh at 60Hz (i cannot alter this) though my TV (Pansonic 32" analogue) is a 50/100 Hz TV - so 60Hz sounds a bit weird??

I have a similar problem only opposite - I can not get the my GeForce FX5300's TVout to display on the entire TV screen. I have thin black stripes top & bottom.

I had the option of doing 50Hz or 60Hz for my TVout, but both of them provide the exact same results. My TV is a Toshiba 100Hz, and in 100Hz mode - it simply makes 60Hz and 50Hz signals look absolutely the same.

I cannot tell you that your card really outputs 60Hz because PAL @60Hz is something most TVs of today would simply handle silently. They wouldn't tell you and you wouldn't know.

This is normal and expected on a TV because the TV overscans the picture (approx 10% is beyound the edge of the screen). This is exactly the same as normal TV picture experiences so there is nothing to correct for watching video, however GBPVR menus have an overscan correction setting within direct.ini within the GBPVR program directory, as follows:
<OverScanBorderX1>0</OverScanBorderX1>
<OverScanBorderY1>0</OverScanBorderY1>
<OverScanBorderX2>0</OverScanBorderX2>
<OverScanBorderY2>0</OverScanBorderY2>
<OverScanVideoAlso>false</OverScanVideoAlso>

Replace the "0" with the number of pixels you wish to to bring the menu edge back by, eg 30 would be a good estimation. You will notice I have disabled this correction on the video because the video is supposed to be overscaned.

BTW, on the ATI driver, if you configured the TV-out for PAL, then it DOES output 50Hz irrespective of what the screen refresh rate states. I proved this (by accident) when experimenting with ReClock which just happens to report the true refresh-rate for TV-out. The ATI driver only reports the monitor refresh rate.

Hi csy,

That's what I ended up doing - enlarged the screen until the top and bottom borders disappeared, and then used the overscan X1/X2 to compensate the menus.

Thanks,

Thanks for all the help - I would never have found that part of the config file!
