Hi, I've spent over a couple of hours trying to set the capture source settings but no avail. The wiki says that the novat usb2 is supported. I use recording source BDA Recording Plugin, but I'm really struggling with the EPG source. I've tried bleb uk, but after the scan I got nothing.

I was hoping someone could help me with XMLTV plugin settings. Could you take me through the exact steps to setting it up?

Very let down by Wintv2000 and not that impressed with stability of showshifter. Heard good things about this prog though.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think you need an EPG to do the actual scan. If your card doesn't find any channels during the scan, there is something more basic wrong... Does it find channels with wintv2000? By your post I assume you are in the uk. Some people in the uk need to set BDAScanType in config.xml to 2 instead of 1. Can't think of more things to try right now, but those two could be a start.
I'm not always right

cheers for replying.

Everything works fine in wintv, i get all my freeview channels with excellent pic/sound.

When I press "tv guide" it says to set up epg source, unfortunately this is where I'm confused.

When setting the XMltv settings it asks for you to browse for a target file, where is this found?

"Some people in the uk need to set BDAScanType in config.xml to 2 instead of 1"

Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by this. Is this in the capture source page of the config?

Most people in the UK using XMLTV download the Radio Times XMLTV grabber software from http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/. When you run this software it'll produce an XMLTV file which is what GB-PVR needs to point to.

When you've done this, click the 'Update EPG' button which will pull in the list of channels. The click the 'Map digital channels ro EPG channels' button, which will initiate a channel scan on your Nova-T USB2.

thanks, I ran xmltv prog. After running it though, what and where is the xml file that you need to point to with gbpvr?

I'm sorry if its blatantly obvious. I've tried numerous files but to no avail.

I assumed it was the data.xml, but nothing happens when i press to update epg.

Sorry, I'm not in the UK, so I dont use this app myself and dont know the answer. Hopefully another UK user will be able to give you the low-down.

Hi Sub, you gave me the right advice. I just didnt select the channels individually from xmltv, I just assumed it would select all channels available. Once I got that right I was up and running. Thanks for your time.
