Hi,

I've been having problems with my Nova-TD on Windows 7, it seems to be suffering from the x64 driver problem discussed here:

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthr...189&page=8

Anyone had any experience of this, and success stories or suggestions?

Thanks Smile

The only issue I'm aware of with the Nova-TD devices is in New Zealand, where a much higher bitrate is used on DVB-T than in other parts of the world, and it looks like every so often (for me every minutes), a byte of data is corrupted as it is copied from the device. In countries that use H.264 video, like New Zealand, this one byte of data can leady to a relatively large visual corruption on screen.

I've not aware of any confirmed problem with this device in the UK.

Hi sub,

My bad, was a bit tired when I posted this. Isn't the Nova-TD, it's the new Nova-T-500. According to the Hauppauge UK support forums there is a known issue with some of the newer Nova-T-500 PCI cards, they seem to have problems only on Windows 7 (not clear if it is only x64 or also x86). The same card in the same machine works okay on Vista / XP. The issue is that on Windows 7 you get what appears to be a weak signal problem (glitching, dropping the signal), apparently this is caused my the signal strength being polled too often.

They say they're working on a new driver, but since they've been at it for about 4~5 months I'm not holding my breath. Still, the card only cost me £15 new (figured it was a bargain), so I'm not majorly worried. Just wondering if the folks here had any solutions that haven't cropped up on the Hauppauge support group.

That issue being discussed on the last few pages of that closed thread you linked, (about the Nova-TD-500 and Nova-TD sticks) confirmed by Hauppauge and being investigated by the driver guys, was that issue I mentioned. For the most part the discussion in those few pages was NZ guys, related glitches or garbage on the screen fairly regularly with DVB-T. There was also one or two guys from the UK adding a "me too" type post, but those have been discounted as unrelated.

I've got two of these running in two windows 7 machines, both appear to be working fine, 1 machine is 32 bit and the other is 64bit.

Do you want to compaire drivers and card types ?

Hi systemshark,

I've got a "Hauppauge Nova-DT Dual DVB-T Tuner Device (+IR)".

It is using driver 4.3.27240.0.

On the board itself, it says it is "99101 LF".

I have Windows 7 Professional x64.

The first tuner "Dev 1 Path 0" seems to be fine, but the second tuner "Dev 1 Path 1" seems to glitch ever few seconds, manifesting itself as a pause in the video or a jitter in the audio. My signal is quite strong, so I doubt that is it.

Any tips much appreciated. Smile

HeyHey, My Wife's just gone to bed after watching Slient Witness.....

My driver is 4.3.2724.0 same as your and my board is also a 99101LF.

I'm running Windows 7 64 Bit on this machine.

I'll run BDAScan tomorrow and see what the effects are.... I think I'm getting good output on both channels but I'll check...

The error your seeing ... are you seeing several times or just once ?

Hi systemshark,

Interesting, seems we've the exact same setup. It's been a little hard to get a handle on this glitch, but at the moment I'm thinking it is something to do with the LiveTV buffer. When running in near-instantaneous playback, on Dev1/Path1 I get glitches in the sound as though there isn't enough data in the buffer to meet demand. However, if I have the playback chase from 10 seconds behind it seems okay. Don't quote me on this, I'll play with it more over the weekend and see if I come up with anything! Smile

Thanks
