Whenever I watch anything (be it a recording, Live TV or a DVD) in GBPVR, the WAVE output (under volume control) seems to reset lower, at about 40% from maximum. I push it up, and it sounds louder. I exit and then come back in, and it's back at 40% or so. All the other volumes (including the master volume) are at 100%. I've tried various combinations, and the problem is still there. I'm using InterVideo NonCSS Audio Decoder and a bunch of different Audio Renderers (Realtek AC97). Any thoughts?

I have the same problem... since the first gb-pvr i was using. It's the lousy Regkey "LastVolume"

No One needs it, but it won't be removed.

It's annoying, really!

What do you mean it won't be removed? Can we change the value?

Yeah, you can. But ONLY for one started Instance of GB-PVR.

Open REGEDIT.EXE and look for the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\devnz\
REG_DWORD LastVolume

You can delete this one, then the sound within GB-PVR is back to normal... till the next exit.

I asked some time ago, why not to remove this key, but i didn't got an answer. I think i will remove the write permission to this key.

It is used. Its needed to remember what the volume was the last time the user set it.

Before this setting existed, users used to complain often that they turned the volume to the preference but everytime they restarted GB-PVR it was back to maximum volume.

Mhm, sub... then i don't understand the other users. GB-PVR is primary a MediaCenter Software.
Normaly i control the Volume on Television OR the Speakers itself. Rarely i would change the Volume within Windows, because it's a mixing through many Programs. Master is low, WMP is middle, gb.pvr is low... and so on.

It would be very nice, if you could implement some day an option to dis- oder enable this within the config-screen. Users who really needs this could activate this then.

But i have EVERY time to a) delete the regkey, b) to raise the Wave-Volume, c) to calibrate my soundsystem if i start gb-pvr.

my problem was that my remote controlled the master volume (not the wave one), so the wave would go down, but there was no way to use the remote to get it back up. So I'm gonna try to keep the volume up and instead use my remote to control WAVE and see what happens.

It works! So the key is to assign the remote to control the WAVE not the Master Volume
