The MVP is a wonderful, but tricky thing to skin for. I generally use Contour, Flat Blue Hi Vis, (still working just great) and some of my own design. I also get good results using the Appearence Manager and associated bits and peices. I find that the issues for skinning for PC and MVP are more releated to font size, color, and contrasts than anything else. The transparency issue brought up was important in allowing what you do get to be clearer, however it makes no difference if the skinner doesn't pay attention to the rest of it. The MVP is very picky about some colors and if the font size is small it may look spectacular on the PC but like crap on the MVP/TV combo.
In my opinion the Fat Blue Hi Vis is still the best for the MVP. Depending on what features and plug-ins you use it should still work for you.
