I am trying to get 5.1 digital sound from my pvr while playing a dvd
I have a sound card with spdif out
I have connected a digital coaxal cable from the sound card to receiver
and the reciever confirms that the coax connection is working.

I am trying to use AC3 filter to get the correct audio output threw spdif
I have spdif passthrough checked for ac3 DTS and mpeg-audio

but it doesn't pass-it threw it gets downsampled to 96k

I even uninstalled ffdshow to make sure it wasn't that

any help on getting AC3 filter to supply the needed format to my video card is greatly appreciated

I'm attempting to do the same thing, although I have not tried using the AC3 filter.

My sound card is setup to perform S/PDIF passthrough.

I have InterVideo WinDVD Platinum installed and setup the Audio option in there to do S/PDIF passthrough.

When I play a DVD with WinDVD, the DTS encoding gets passed along fine to my amp.

When I use GBPVR to play the DVD, the audio gets downsampled before reaching the amp.

Does someone have a solution for this?

Never mind! I did some more searches and found this in the forums already:

I just used the option for S/PDIF passthrough and it worked great!

Cheers,
