Hello everyone,

I am setting up my HTPC with GB-PVR and using the Hauppauge PVR150 and was curious to see how most of the users here have their audio set up. The PVR150 card does not have any audio outputs, so I am assuming the computer sound card drives the sound (I am only confused because the MCE-PVR150 has the composite outputs for audio and video). Do you wire the sound card with a composite splitter to your TV? Or just use the sound card to directly drive the speakers.

Thanks for helping a DIY HTPC newbie.

Cheers,
Tom

With the pvr150 sound is given to the computer through the PCI bus (other tv tuners you have to run sound into a sound card, or push it out of the tuner card and into the sound card).

So put your audio into the pvr150 for recording then its up to you what you do for speakers.

My system I run a 3.5mm headphone jack to 2 rca to the back of the tv, and i also run a digital coax cable from a spdif capable sound card into a receiver, so I can have either a stereo signal to the tv, or a 5.1 passthough to the receiver.

Like psycik said, however I split my signal between the TV and a stereo amp

Thanks for the quick replies! Now I have an idea of the setup and time to order that PVR150 from newegg.

Cheers,
Tom
