I just upgraded to 97.7. now, live tv is having problems. it will show a blank screen (i.e. black) for about 3 seconds and then stutter through live tv for about 10 seconds. then the everything catches up. i saw catches up because it will display the osd from when the channel was changed there. after that everything seems to be okay.

i've tried switching from vm9 to vm7 to osd and the all do it. all works okay if i uncheck use live tv preview if possible, but changing channels then takes forever. i have also tried different video and audio decoders, but they all sta the same. the sound works fine, it's just the video lagging.

any ideas?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

sub,

i have attached some logs. what i did was start gbpvr, goto livetv, and let it play for about 20 seconds, enough to let it get started and play for a little bit.

thanks for the help!

Try setting your deinterlacing to 'encoder pass-through' on the misc tab of the config app.

I would stick with encoder pass through, but try different audio decoder options. At the moment you machine seems to be trying to use two different audio decoders at the same time. Why? No idea - something funny about the decoders installed on your machine.

I'd also try to get it working with out the ffdshow audio decoder being used. This has caused similar problems for other users.

Quote:23:20:39.796 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
23:20:39.796 VERBOSE - InterVideo NonCSS Audio Decoder for Hauppauge
23:20:39.796 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
23:20:39.796 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
23:20:39.796 VERBOSE - ffdshow Audio Decoder
23:20:39.796 VERBOSE - InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge
23:20:39.796 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
23:20:39.812 VERBOSE - Encoder
23:20:39.812 VERBOSE - Capture
23:20:39.812 VERBOSE - Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Crossbar
23:20:39.812 VERBOSE - TV Audio
23:20:39.812 VERBOSE - TV Tuner

You can find this list in gbpvr.exe-native.log. You want to try to end up with only one audio decoder being listed, and preferrably not the ffdshow one.

i uninstalled ffdshow and that did not help. it still would stutter, (audio still playing just fine) then the video would flash real quick and catch up to the audio (the osd would also flash). so now what i've done is update the drivers (i'm using the 150mce). i updated the drivers and used hauppauge's update video decoder part. now everything is working fine.

Thanks for the help Sub!
