Hello,
I am still having some sort of problem when trying to use vides archive and x-record it’s causing gbpvr to shutdown after loading up. I can’t work out what’s going on it works well with weather, rss feed and my music, I have had errors in the log files relating to oledb and have tried a number of things to sort this out.

1. Uninstall, turn off services and re install plugging, common gbr utilities’ and gbpvruieleme.

2. Tried using different configuration settings for the pluggins.

3. Downloaded SQLite DB and ran gbpvr DB configures.

4. Loaded and run all the required add on software e.g. cuttermaran, DAEMON tools, Dmc audio imput, power DVD video decoder, Auto dvr convert, forceaspi17 and Beesweet!

I have no idea what to try next, dose anyone know what these plug-ins have to do with the oleDB or why this is happening, it’s not very nice!

Thanks in advance.

For the VA plug-in you need to install the latest version from the wiki. The previous release will not work with the .net 2.0 version of GBPVR.

Hi Jeff,
I downloaded it only 48 houers ago.
I think the problem has something to do with the video archive.mdb file, witch in me set up is configured to run with microsoft access.

The VA Plug-in always uses Access to get to the video archive.mdb database even if GBPVR is using SQLLite for its DB; the two are unrelated. If you post your *.log files from your GBPVR and jeff dircetories I might be able to help you out. Also, can you check the file verison for the commongbpvrutiltiies.dll and verifiy that it is 3.X?

I was having a problem getting these two to work, and when I tried to go into the GBPVR config utility I'd get a mess of OleDB error messages. All I did was I move the videoarchive db from the Jeff folder into the main GBPVR directory and both VA and XRecord seem to be working fine.

I imagine its something to do with the following error in your logs:

Quote:01/06/2006 22:19:16.187 VERBOSE [1] Error loading plugin list: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\video archive.mdb'.

The plugin is supposed to automatically create the video archive database if it can not be found, but it would seem to not be doing so. You can copy the vidseo archive.mdb file from the jeff subdirectory to the main gbpvr directory and the problem should go away.

Hi Jeff,
I tried what you suggested but the file was already in the main directory so I copied over it for good measure, but still no luck. I have been changing some of the configurations this morning in the plug-in section, I did have the mvp box ticked and I don’t have an mvp at present so I have unchecked this and am now getting a different error message when starting gbpvr. After gbpvr loads up I now get a message saying out of memory! I don’t think I can be really out of memory as my pc carries 1gb cousier ram and task manager shows only 623kb with gbpvr running. I use mem test fairly regularly to check my memory and have never had any problems. My hard drive a 200 gb western digital is only 25% full so I don’t know where this is coming from, and it dose not occur unless va is plugged in.

Thanks

Problem solved, well both problems, unchecked mvp option in va plugin settings this solved the problem of runing va seams the runing no mvp with this box checked causes shutdown. The other isue that caused the mem error was a conflict between va and base skin so all works fine in standard blue.
All now works fine so i am going to try some other skins.
Thanks for your help.
