Hi all

Ive just caught this on Digg.com today, and immediately thought it must have potential!

http://news.zdnet.co.uk/0,39020330,39272166,00.htm

Quite how it could be used with GBPVR im unsure, and wonder what people think?

- GBPVR is not strictly client-server and this thing has no hard drive (might have flash drive in the future i guess?)

- Would it have enough power to run GBPVR?

- It has no S-Vid or comp video out, but states it can support digital monitors (using a VGA to DVI adapter?)

Looks very cool, and will cost about £200 GBP if its released.

well if it ran a decent OS it would be possible...but CE would take too much programming to get interfaces/db/etc going...
with a little re-arranging you could probably squeeze an MVP into a box like that tho....so a linux box would probably work better with the MVP os loaded..

i like the way they say "ever-growing range of thin clients, which are rapidly replacing PCs as a more effective desktop computing solution for modern businesses" LOL as if!!
more effective? more like weaker/but cheaper for the boss...Smile

looks like a good idea, i just didnt understand how it could be usable?

i missed the bit about Windows CE mind you.

I use RDP quite a lot (using a hack mentioned in these forums to get concurent connections), it might be good to view the server.

Doesent make it much use for GBPVR then?

It also uses a RISC CPU - different CPU command sets. Interesting concept, tho.

"RISC CPU - different CPU command sets" not a problem for .Net!
