BaseSkin v2.5 released

Updated the BaseSkin to v2.5 on the Wiki

The big difference is that BaseSkin is split to 2 parts
BaseSkin and BaseSKinPlugins.

Introduced a system variable %SKINROOT% that will be used for next update of ThemePacks.
Run Installer to install files, the SkinRoot program and install Blank font

Skin files change
Changed the loading order of Background_Mask.png
Implemented earlier fixes, found in support thread.
Changed XML values to fix "minor bugs" and appearance of popups in TVguilde, Recordings, Video, System, Photo.

MCE2HDee Theme is a mix of MCE2Blue and HDeeTV. Clear, cool blue colors and a main screen resolution is 1024x768
Theme requires the variable SKINROOT to be set.

I downloaded this last night and installed it on my test box. Installation went very smooth. I also installed a couple of themese from the Wiki (Reboot and Theater) and I noticed the date and time at the top wrapped to the next line and was partially cutoff. Is this just a font size issue in the skin file that can be edited myself (pardon the most likely noob question, haven't looked into the skinning stuff as of yet)? I think the theme manager plugin combined with baseskin and all of the themes are just awesome. If my graphics abilities were better, I would offer my assistance, but the whole point of skins and themes is to make the program look better, and with my graphics skills I would end up chasing users away from GBPVR haha.

The location and size is controled by the \Baseskin\Main menu\skin.xml file
under the panels section at the bottom.

Maybe try what I have in bold and see if that helps. I do not have this on my work computer to test it for you

The old values were 330,70 so I made them as large as the menu size definition.

This this gets overwritten for different themes so copy whatever changes you make to the same folder under \Baseskin\Advisor.Reboot\Panels as well (or Theater).

BTW, thanks for giving feedback. Mixman would really appreciate it if more users would do the same.

Sweet, thanks for the quick reply. I will try that tonight. I figured it would be something quick and easy, just hadn't had a chance to dig into the xml files myself yet.

I get "Run-Time error '462' The Remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable"

when installing Baseskin 2.5...message appears at the end of installation...:confused:

I might be missing something, the only file in the zip was the baseskin installer...did not see the SkinRoot program nor the Blank font:confused:

The installer contains the font and the skinroot program.
The skinroot program is written in VB6 and the error message indicates that there is a problem when setting the system variable.
Perhaps your Windows WMI might work correctly ?

Regarding clock panel and font wrapping. When I developed this I used European style showing time....like 14.45 instead of 2.45 pm. This is why the time does not fit when using pm/am.
I will modify this in the themes by having the time aligned to the right. Themes will be updated continously....in time
