After many frustrating hours trying to get some decent software to run with the freecom device under 32 bit windows i eventually gave up and used the freecom player and left it at that.
I've recently installed windows xp pro 64 bit, and immediately wondered if there are 64 bit drivers for the freecom stick. so i emailed them. within a couple of days they emailed me back with a beta 64bit BDA driver attached!
awesome, i thought, now i can use whatever software i want with this device (gb-pvr being one app i've had my eye on).
And indeed i can!
i had to add the following section to gb-pvr's BDA.INI:
and the config program complained (crashed) a few times when setting it up, but i kept hitting "Continue" instead of Quit, and it successfully completed a channel scan.
I'm just going to wait for the EPG to finish updating and I'll see if it works 100%.
If anyone wants the 64 bit BDA Freecom drivers, i suggest you email them yourselves. They'll send you the latest ones, and I suspect that they'll release them properly soon anyway.
