Bought new mvp - works fine with Hauppauge S/W.
Using GBPVR (9709) MVP finds server but repeatedly restarts whilst loading application. Log suggests its trying to received the dongle.

It loads OK with the experimental and unstable dongle.
I did post this before but my post has been deleted.

MVP: Rev. 2.05
Prefered server: 1.1.38
Model: 86020
Rev: H3
Lot: 2106

Log now attached

have you tried the default dongle.bin ?
Any plugins installed ? If yes remove them and see what happens.

No plugins installed apart from what you get by default.
I've tried all the dongles including the one from Hauuppage.
The only one that works is the experimental one.

i'm having the same problem. I've just re-installed windows. The problem is still the same:
* gbpvr 0.97.9, no themes, i've tried al dongle files
* the media mvp software isn't installed
* windows xp home, service pack 1 (previous installation: sp2)
* no firewall installed

edit: i've read: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FAQ/MVP#toc2
edit2:
* dotnet 2.0 installed
MVP software:
MVP startup screen: Rev. 2.05
Prefered server screen: ver. 1.1.38

Do you have dotnet 2.0 installed ?
Copy the dongle.bin from the Haup installation, 'cause I think I've seen a thread adressing new MVP revs and default GBPVR dongel.bin files don't go that well.
Unplug the MVP power cord. Fire up GBPVR, make sure the "autostart service"
is 1 (or more if you've got more MVP's).
Plug the MVP powercord and turn it on.

That's all I can come up with since I'm also a newbie here.... but since no one else responds I'll give it a try, maybe sub has some answers, dono when he'll be back though.

I'm running dotnet 2. I've just extracted the dongle.bin from the mvp software and placed it in the GBPVR\Dongle directory.
I've rebooted my computer and unplugged the power from the MVP.
The problem is the same: the MVP keeps rebooting when the 'loading application screen' comes.
