Hi.
As a total newcomer to PVR, can anyone let me know if it is possible to buy a machine with a large HDD (160Gb or more), two tuners, and capable of then transferring (burning) any programme from the HDD to DVDs, preferably DVD+R or +RW?

Yes. Most of us do some of the above, all the time.
With an mpeg-2 encoder/tuner card (Hauppauge PVR series), it's extremely simple.
You can never have enough tuners!

You can buy this type of machine but they come with windows media centre pre installed. Mesh, HP, avent etc all do such pcs, although most only come with signle tuner you can easily replace them on order, or yourself.

My GB-PVR rig does all that and much more... along with comskip/comclean I don't even have to manually cut the commercials out before I burn it. Smile

Trust me... what you want to do is just the tip of the GB-PVR iceberg. If you can think of it, most likely GB-PVR can do it. And if it can't, there is probably a plug-in that can!

And probably a dozen or so people on the board who can help with any problems you have.
