Please recommend hardware (tuners, graphics card, cpu, memory, psu) for a four tuner pvr for UK DVB-T (which is SDTV for now). I'd prefer to err on the side of higher cost/lower headaches. TIA.

I like mine (see below). You would probably need a newer motherboard / cpu but the rest of it is pretty current.

I have a PVR500 which works perfectly and saves a PCI slot. On newer motherboard there are seldom more than 3 PCI slots.

Unless you state your source i.e cable, over the air. Whether you want SDTv or HDTV resolution? we cannot recommend anything without being sure it's the right thing for you.

I would wait for the nova-t 500 (dual tuner dvb-t) pci card which is meant to hit the UK shores soon, see if they are any good for gbpvr. PC spec wise amd64 3000+ would a good performance to price ratio (although I have 3 x dvb-t and 1 analogue running on a duron 1.6 @2Ghz running fine) with a nvidia 6150 motherboard. PSU wise I would recommend a seasonic 380w or 430w whichare rather quiet. On the hard drive front a 300GB would be the minimuim I would recommend for recordings.

The Nova-t-500 should work. The driver is very similar to the other DiBcom-based Hauppauge devices; both of which work in GB-PVR. From what I've been seeing, the price for the Nova-t-500 will be quite low - if the current prices quoted are correct then there will be no point in buying a single-tuner Nova-t.

Thanks for that Chris, I was only today contemplating buying something to see if I can get a digital signal up here. I'll wait for the new card now. Ta.

I see Scan in the UK are now selling the low profile one with the phrase:-

*Exclusive SCAN ONLY* at gbp 91.65 - a touch on the pricy side I thought.
