97.13 Music Library + Linux Share = Bad Sorting

I just installed the latest version 97.13. I have my music on a Linux box and export the folder with Samba. This has worked fine in the past by using the "\\SERVER\share" directory format in gbpvr's config.xml file. It STILL works with 97.13 EXCEPT that the directories are NOT sorted in alphabetical order. Perhaps they are sorted in ext2 file handle order now?

Also, with the new Music/Video/Photo Libraries and my MediaMVP, I can no longer do PgUp/PgDn with the remote's ">|" and "|<" buttons as I could before. This makes getting to ZZTop nearly impossible since I have over 500 artists at the top folder level. I couldn't find other buttons on the Hauppauge Remote to do similar behavior.

By doing "ls -lU" (where "-U" means "do not sort; list entries in directory order"), I have confirmed that Music Library in 97.13 is not sorting the Samba share alphabetically.

If i blow my own plugins' trumpet, it allows remote "typing" to find artists....

Haven't tried it off samba shares though, but i don't seem any reason why it wouldn't work.

Hmm, are we talking about the same Music Library? I'm using the "default" one that comes with 97.13. I did a clean install and re-entered all config options from scratch. I tried typing at the computer keyboard to select an artist but nothing happened. I tried using the MediaMVP remote (with "Treat number keys like mobile phone entry" both On and Off) and nothing happened.

I typically use my MediaMVP to watch recordings and listen to music, not my computer, so I really need the PgUp/PgDn functionality for the Hauppauge Remote restored. And correct sorting of directory names would be nice.

BTW, I also tried Mapping A Network Drive in Windows (which never worked properly with gbpvr before) and I got the same incorrect sorting order.

No I have a plugin called MusicLibrary2 (original I know). It's tag based, and supports using the remote for finding an artist. See my sig....
