Playing recordings with the latest version sometimes causes the GUI to crash, with the "Unexpected error" message. Nothing apparent in the logs. Has happened once or twice recently. Both times it happened during watching the second recording. The first recording playback was fine.

Plugins installed: Weather & Video Archive.

Anybody noticed this?

Perhaps it is time for a full clean install as I have been upgrading the last four/five times for each new release. Logs attached.

Did you get the "gbpvr was forced to shutdown" message from windows and then gbpvr just closes? If so, check your event logs and see if there is an error in the application log for the .net runtime. I got this twice myself, and still no idea or indication as to why.

Sub,

This is the exact problem that I had (although the faulting module seems to change everytime). Is there anything that I can do or provide that would assist in finding the cause? I haven't played any more recordings so I haven't had it happen again.

DanIrl, try switching from the VMR9Custom renderer to VMR9.

Will do. I will try this over the next few days. I will let you know if the problem reoccurs with VMR9 renderer.

Okay. I tried using VMR9 this morning and it crashed within about 5 mins. It states d3d9.dll as the problematic module.

Sorry, I dont know. It sounds like its dying somewhere inside one of the direct3D DLLs. You could try googling on this.

Next time you post one of these, also post the set of GB-PVR logs.
