1)Just learned that there is a 25MB limit for ALL post attachments. Does deleting past attachments break the links from the posts to which they were attached?

2) How does one get the nicely formatted quotes from other posts into a new post?

Thanks for the help.

To the bottom right of this post are links marked "Reply" and "Reply With Quote" ... You can edit the text from the quoted post when you "Reply With Quote" but you should leave the stuff inside the square brackets unchanged.

I manually insert quotes when I type by putting quote and /quote (in square brackets) around what I want

The posts themselves will still be there, but the obviously could be a bit confusing to a user though, since it'll refer to attachment that is no longer there. (some people did do the attachment via a link, some people it'd just appear as a file at the bottom of the post - the link version would probably take you to an attachment not found type message). For the most part, it's usually just logs that people have attached though, so nobody is going to miss them Big Grin

Thank you, all. Very helpful.

sub, you're right that long ago attachments won't hold much relevance today. I just wondered if there was some procedure for preserving attachments before being irretrievably deleted. Thanks, again.
