Ive read almost all the posts and tried almost everything, but I cant get GBPVR to record ATSC HDTV broadcasts. I have used the mux checker and I have tried these filters all independently with no sucess:

GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\PDMpgMux.ax
VERSION: 3.5.0107

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.0813

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\WINDOWS\system32\THMpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.2022

I ran the filmerit utility and found that there was an ATI mux called: ATI MPEG Multiplexer. It isn't getting picked up by the MuxChecker. I'm guessing it isn't supported by gbpvr. The file is called: C:\Program Files\Common Files\ATI Technologies\Multimedia\atidvcr.dll I even tried unregistering that file with no luck.

When I try to record. I get 0kb files. If I try to pause livetv, I get "Error: failure playing back file". I have tried lots of different audio and video renderers but no changes with recording. I seem to get the best live tv performance out of the custom vmr9. Oh and regular cable records fine only hdtv is broke. Does anyone have any suggestions or does anyone have an HDTV Wonder card that is working well in gbpvr? I would be interested to see the output of your muxchecker. I attached some zipped logs and also the ati mux I found.

Sub, if this is a real ATI mux, would it be difficult to support it in a future release? The output of the filmerit log for my system is also in the zip. See the entry for "ATI MPEG multiplexer" for details of that mux. Thanks for supporting this great app.

Have you tried deregistering those first two? If you have multiple Cyberlink MPEG Muxers installed, it'll always use the first on listed in Mux Checker, which in this case is very old (v3.5.0107).

Also, have you tried the Microsoft DVR-MS mux? This seems to perform the best for most ATSC users.

Ok, I've added support for this mux for the next release. This mux as options to produce other stream types, but I cant programatically set this so its stuck in 'Generic MPEG' mode (with out info on API from ATI). This generic MPEG mode seems to work quite well with my DVB setup. No way to tell how it'll work for ATSC until someone tests it after the release.

I tried all three of the cyber link filters by registering only one at a time and they all produced the same result. I also tried the DVR-MS one and it opens an "activeMovie" window with nothing in it and no files are ever created.

Thanks for adding the ATI mux. I cant wait to try it out. I think a lot of people in the US use this card. Thanks,

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I'm fairly sure this related to post number #4 from the 'v0.97.13 survival guide' thread.

I have essentially the same trouble with my ATI HDTV wonder that we use for ATSC testing. I can record and I can watch live tv but I can't timeshift. I have had the best luck so far with the ati mux.
The graphs look good but no data is written to the .mpg file in timeshift mode. In record mode it all works fine.

hotsoup at http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthrea...=116&pp=30 is also inquiring about this.

I would like to know it works before buying one myself.

For my nickel I would want timeshift to work. I would guess someone out there has the magic recipe, but so far it hasn't worked for me. I'll keep you posted if it gets any better.
