What is the best / easiest tool to copy My DVD to mpg with subtitles if possible - so that I can have all my DVDs on the harddisk and easliy get them via MVP and GBPVR?

GB-PVR, the DVD-Ripper Plugin and the necessary Software DVD Decrypter.
This is a one-click-experience if DVD Decrypter is correct configured.

Wow -- that's an old plugin. I don't remember seeing it before :o

I was going to suggest Video Archiver that has the DVD2MPEG utility built in.

That, I do not know -- I don't deal with subtitles.

it does not matter if I do the conversion of DVD to MPEG outside GBPVR.

What I want is a way to save DVD to MPEG and also to include subtitle in my language in the MPEG file - so that when I use GBPVR it would look as any recording but also has subtitles included.

anyone who knows if this is possible?

Mhm... you could use an external Application like DVDx. With this one you can "melt" the subtitles with your movie and save as MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or .AVI Containerformat (DivX, XviD, 3ivX and so on).

e.g. with subrip you can extract subs from a dvd you can then view them with gbpvr, if you enable srt-viewing in config. I don't know about the timing you might have to adjust that. Subtitleworkshop is a very nice program for that.
