So Here is a problem, If I try to tune any channel below 24 I get an error canno play file back message. Now if I first tune a channel above 24 then change the channel without stopping the recording (push channel numbers, use mini-guide, or CH up or down buttons) then I can get down to those lower channels. Im sure the same thing is going to happen when I try to record a program at a lower channel while I'm not around. Do you know what the problem coud be? Also I attached my logs.

How many capture sources do you have?

You seem to be missing to files in the logs - GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log and GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log.

I have three sources (PVR-500). Two using the internal tuner and one using s-video in with my set-top box. The set top box input dosen't really work yet mostly due to an IR blaster problem but thats a different post. I'll attach those files if you like but the program has been running for a while.

Can you give me a brief run down, in the order they're listed in the config app, saying the source (tuner/svid) and a summary of the channels it has. Also let me know the device numbers.

Just so you know, if you try to go to channel 13, it'll start at the bottom of the capture source list working its way up until it finds a capture source that has the required channel. From then on, if you change channels, it'll try to stay on the same capture source if it has the require channel, if it does have the required channel, then it'll repeat the process again.

...so, if its channels less than 24 that a causing problems, I'd say there is a problem with the capture source nearest to the bottom of the capture source list that has these channels.

Ok I gotcha, but I remember reading somewhere the when you watch it starts from one direction and when you record it goes from another. So if it tries to record from the bottom source first then, does it try to do anything from the top source first?

Analog 1 - tuner
Analog 2 with FM tuner - tuner
Digital 1 - s-video

i did find a channel overlap problem so i'm good with that

When selecting a capture source for recording is starts at the top of the list and works its way down. Live tv starts at the bottom of the list and works its way up.

I asked for more detailed information than that... Re-read my post above.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs, and I'll take a look. The original set you provided did not include the matching recording service logs.
