Live tv does nothing

I just installed GB-PVR and got everything working correctly except, when i press live tv it just sits there for about 30 seconds and then lets me move around the menu again. i know my PVR-250 works because i used the turner program and it went through every channal and i saw live tv. any help would be great (p.s. i am pretty green with this PVR i have succesfully installed mythtv, but i know nothing about how this one works)

i would also like to add that i never had SBE enabled in config and even when i enabled it, no change

You're aware that the tuning assistant is only a help to find channel numbers to enter in the setup? It doesn't add any channels to your config at all. If you haven't already done so, follow the steps in the quickstart. If you already have, then I don't know what might be wrong... :-(

bumpychef, try disabling the SBE option. Also explicitly set the MPEG decoder on the playback tab of the config app. Sometimes the "system default" option can cause problems.

i did update my zap2it channals in the config, so i know thats not the problem. i will try the mpeg decoder today and hope that works

i just tried about every option i could under mpeg2 decoder still nothing . im going to try to reinstall, but if you dont hear from me again it didnt work.

I'm having the same problem, but I just started working on it last night so I supposed this post is premature (I'm just excited about getting it working). I didn't read the quickstart forum guide until just now, and didn't know I needed MDAC 2.6 installed, as well as an mpeg-2 decoder (though it says most cards don't need this), I probably do because I have the old avermedia M150 (the higher end hauppauge cards seem to have decoders built in). Software decoding is fine by me, I'm running a 1.8ghz celeron. I'm running the latest version (v.0.22.7) and windows 2000, but hopefully if I get those 2 things installed it'll start working.
