I'm experiencing problems with almost every single plugin I've used.

I'm having problems with the volume with the volume plugin. It's showing two different numbers

With mymusicII, when I uncheck the box not to search m3u files, yet it's still showing up. A few mp3 folders for some reason show the entire address path for the file name.

The theatre and weather seemed like the only ones that were working, but since I was having so much trouble with all the plugins I wipped everything out and now when I installed the theatre, for some reason it's not getting half the theatres around my area and nothing very close to me.

I was looking at the plugin changes and decided that I'd give the appearance plugin a chance, since it looks pretty nice. I installed the plainjain setup and installed the plugin and everything seemed to be ok, then I couldn't click on theatre, couldn't click on a few other menus or it would give me an missing object warning with some xml file missing or something.

I'm just hoping it's something I can do, because I'm really not having any luck with any plugin. Come to think about it out of all the plugins I've tried the only one that I can consistently work is the weather plugin.

I'm trying to figure out the reason, so I double clicked on my installation of the latest GB-PVR software and did a remove and then I went into the installation directory and delete everything that's left, but I'm still having problem.

I'm wondering if it's something to do with CommonGBPVRUtilities or GbpvrUiElements.dll as it seems kind of strange to me that I need these two files for almost all the plugins, yet not exactly sure why it's not part of the core GB-PVR if it's needed by so many plugins and especially if there's a few version of either one of these dll files I'd figure it would be included in the main core instalation package.

I really like GB-PVR and the plugins seem so promising, but right now I can't seem to get a stable plugin.

This is probably caused by id3-tags not being there or unreadable.

aren't ID3 tags in only mp3 files? I could be wrong, but thought they weren't in ogg files also and one of my folders has an ogg. If it's just the Id3 tag than that's understandable, but the checkmark for not showing m3u scans still isn't working. It just seems I'm having a lot of problems with my plugins, is this normal to experience this many problems?

Afaik ogg supports id3-tags as well.
Wrt the mymusic plugin, I don't know what version gbpvr you are running, but the wiki for mymusic says it doesn't support 97.**.
You might want to check for all your plugins if the versions match with the gbpvr-version you are runing.

The plugin MusicLibrary2 does support tag-information included in ogg files.

The Theater plugin has some skinning changes that makes it incompatible with previous versions of the skin. That is an easy fix for Old Dog to get working. You can add more zip codes in the theater plugin to see if it pulls in better selections.

CommonGBPVRUtilities and GbpvrUiElements.dll are "third party" .dll files, that is why they are not included in GBPVR.

MyMusic v2 says on wiki page not compatible with GB-PVR v0.97+. You have to visit Reven's website to get the latest beta of MyMusic v3.

As a last resort you could
  • Remove all files from the plugins directory and save elswhere
  • Remove and save CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll
  • Reinstall the Plain Jane skin.

The PJ installation program will also install tested versions of CommonGBPVRUtilities, Weather, Video Archive, Theater, News, Appearance Manager, and various panels.

You will need to use the Config.exe program to select the skin and to select the plugins and to order the main menu buttons.

At this point, all of the above plugins should work correctly.

As Fatman_do said, you will need to go to Reven's web site to get the latest
MyMusic
plugin. Plain Jane has a skin for MyMusic.

Old Dog,

There is a new composite image and a few more special elements required for the theater skin that will need to be updated.

What ever is in PJ's installation program should work. It might be the old version of Theater or it might be the new version. Theater's new version is easier to skin and has a popup dialog when doing a refresh. Information wise both versions are the same.

I have updated PJ's Theater skin.xml to work with both the old and new versions of the plugin, but I'm not sure if the update is in the installation program on the wiki.

I have several PJ changes in the works and I will be updating the wiki soon.

sorry didn't meant to be a pain, just I started to think that a lot of my problems could have been bad or older versions of the common dll files.

If I run the uninstaller and then I manually delete everything in the installation directory does that get rid of everything?

Right now I did this and I'm too worried to install plain Jane again, since it seemed to give me the most problems. Theatre is working perfectly right now as it did before, theatre only gave me problems once I had plainjane installed. Weather is working great as usual and I just installed the RSS feeder and that looks like it's working great also.

I didn't relieze that mymusic2 was not compatible with the latest version of GB-PVR, thought I was reading carefully.

I just wanted to clarify that nobody thinks i'm unapprecative of the community. I really love GB-PVR and the plugin features are really wonderful. I just started to think that maybe I could isolate my problem. For one thing the volume plugin has always shown two % numbers for me and it's not happening for somebody else, which I figure a lot of people are running I'm sure the haupauge PVR150, so I don't think it's a hardware issue. I've installed volumeosd with a complete fresh company of GB-PVR, so I just started to assume that maybe a shared dll or something I'm using isn't working.

Thanks for all the replies.
