Installed the program, updated the EPG then scanned for channels, but it just doesn't find any-whether I leave it to my local area or let it do a full search. My card is the compromate 300-which the program sees no problem. I don't really follow what this 'mux' issue is, but when I run the Mux checker, it says it doesn't find any on my system. I'm running Windows XP and have both DVB-T and DVB-D cards running ok on my system, plus a Cyberlink Power DVD player...Anyone any ideas where I'm going wrong??

Cheers

Try editing config.xml and setting <BDAScanType>2</BDAScanType>. NOTE: use Notepad NOT Wordpad to edit the config.xml. That has helped some people with those cards.

You could also try Re-RegisterFilters.bat from the GB-PVR Start Menu folder.

Failing that, do a scan and zip and post your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log files (I can't remember which one has the relevant stuff in it so post both). If I can't see anything in them sub should be able to.

On the subject of the 'mux' - you shouldn't need this just for scanning the channels but you will need it for recording. Most people use the Cyberlink one - do a search on the forums to find it. You'll then need to register it and specify you are using it in the Config app. Misc page.

Cheers,
Brian

No joy with any of that- here's the files you asked for (had to put them in a zip file to upload them!)

Can you see if the new v0.98 release helps? It has some improvements to DVB-T scanning.

OK, I've downloaded and installed the newest version... still don't seem to be getting anywhere though. This difference this time though is when I scan for channels, it does actually find a lot of channels, but all called 'unknown' and none of them are viewable in the preview window. I've attached a screen grab.
