xrecord on client/server setup??

does xrecord need to be on the client, or on both??

with no answer, I decided to try it myself

I put it on both machines, and it works almost perfectly.
only problem I find so far is with rectracker.
if the server records a show, it correctly puts it in rectracker.mdb on the server.
but if you are on a client, and choose "seen it" it puts it in a different rectracker.mdb on the client, which is never looked at by the server for determining what to record.

I tried replacing the client database with a shortcut to the server database, but that doesnt work.
I looked for a way to choose the path for rectracker.mdb, but didnt find one.

any ideas??

The plugin is just looking for rectracker.mdb in the current directory. Is there a call that can return c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr on the server but the database share path on the client?
