Hi,

I am not using a USB-UIRT as yet but I am asking this question to check if using a usb-uirt will allow me to correct the following unwanted behavior:

I have the TV input coming to my PC from my cable STB. Since I don’t have any IR receiver/blaster on my PC right now, I am always tuned in to channel 3 on GBPVR and I change channels on my STB to watch different channels. I cant really use my TV guide for recording programs since gbpvr is always tuned to channel 3 and it cannot change channels on my STB. When I tune to say channel 7 on my STB and start recording using GBPVR it records what is currently being shown on the TV, but it shows up with under my recordings with a wrong name. Understandably, this wrong name is the name of the program playing on channel 3 at that time.

I am hoping that using a usb-uirt will correct all of the above undesirable behavior. So I am expecting that when I change channels on gbpvr, the usb-uirt will automatically tune to the right channel on my STB. And likewise when I use the TV guide for recording programs. And thus all my recordings will show up with their right names under my recordings.

Please confirm is I am assuming correctly here.

that's right. and looking ahead, the usb-uirt can control up to 3 stbs independently.

That's good to know since I may need to remote control 2 STBs.
