Not sure this is a GB PVR problem, or a Hauppauge, or a problem with my satellite box......... thought I'd post here first....

The problem is- I can be watching a channel live when its time to start a recording. when the timer starts- it loses the signal, or else the channel changer doesn't completely send the "Correct" channel code- that is, instead of sending 269, it sends 69.
Any suggestions, or questions?

DirectTV (RCA tuner box have to look up exact model)
Hauppauge PVR-150 card

I'm confused.... don't you know which one happens, or do both happen as two separate problems?

not sure what you are saying, but if you are talking about watching TV then getting dumped to the main menu when a recording starts, thats normal

if you are using an IR blaster, make sure that it gets a good signal, I used to have that problem, I think it was because the blaster was too weak, the 150's blaster sucks, its not even IR. you could try removing the cover of the LED or getting an actual IR LED and replacing the red one

Ah, Ok, let me make this a bit more clear.
I can be watching "Live" on the channel I intend to record a show on- at the time the GB PVR starts recording, it kicks up a "Searching for satellite Signal" message. This is entertaining for oh, maybe 2 seconds, but a hour of that is pretty boring. Seems to be a routine occurance.
Or, I can have it on the channel I intend to record (say 269), and the IR Blaster changes the channel to 69 instead of 269. I've tested this quite a bit with the Hauppauge configuration program, and it seems to work ok there. Has me a bit aggrevated, and not real sure where to fix! LOL

So this is two separate problems, then, right?

But when this happens, the blaster has sent the correct numbers to the set top box? Could it be a problem with the set top box...?

Post your logs here. I think it says in the logs which numbers gbpvr tries to send. Maybe it is sending the signals too fast for your box to receive? I don't really know, since I have no idea how the pvr-150's blaster works...
