Hi all,

I'm new to GB-PVR and having issues with my setup. Here is the background on my setup. Over the summer my mobo died (capacitors) had a 1700xp. I upgraded to a athlon 3000 64, but did not do a fresh windows install. I am running 2000pro. Over the weekend I plan to re-install windows and would like to know the correct order for installation of software ect. I have a PVR-150 and an MVP. I haven't tried to use the MVP yet. I have successfully recorded using the software from the PVR, but I cant get GB to record or view live tv. I get a message something like "actively refused by host machine". I may have installed GB before the capture card was functional, should I remove and re-install?

Thanks

Look in your task list to check if GBPVRRecordingService.exe is running. If it isnt, then its probably died, most likely because of the incompatibility with some antivirus and firewall software - see the sticky 'v0.98.8 survival guide' thread.

When I look at the task list GBPVRRecordingService.exe is hogging all the cpu 95-99% usage. I have been using AVG antivirus, but I usually diasable during install.

Thanks

Do you have IE7 installed?

I'll need to get back to you. I usually do all the updates, so if that is the latest version then yes.

Thanks

The reason I ask is because the IE7 beta3 that is currently available causes some problems for the recording server. People need to stick to the IE6 until the issue is resolved.

I have ie6, but I have directx 9.0c. Each time I switch to live tV or start a record GB stops responding.

Ok, I did a complete reinstall of the os. I followed the quickstart guide to the T and now I get a .net error when I try to install GB-PVR. I have no clue what went wrong.

If you're on Windows 2000, you'll also need to update your version of Windows Media Player or you'll get that error.

I finally got it to work. Oddly enough after the reinstall the audio drivers didn't install right. When I fixed that every thing started right up. I ran a test last night and had a sucessful record. Thanks for the help
