I've just moved www.gbpvr.com and wiki to our new dedicated server hosting. You may noticed some downtime until your cached DNS entries for the old server expire. I can see from the logs that quite a few users have already made their way to the new server, even though its only been switched on for a few minutes.

The new server is fully dedicated$$$, so no more sharing CPU and other resources with other hosting customers. Hopefully this should give the much needed performance boost for the wiki.

Please let me know if you notice anything odd.

I just tried to access the wiki and it gave me the good ole 403 Forbidden error. The IP my dns resolves to is 72.36.201.130. Is that the new server or the old one?

Ah, did you try to access http://www.gbpvr.com/pmwiki? You might need to try http://www.gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php.

It should work with either now.

You most likely have the old server IP cached in your dns resolver cache. Let the entry expire or try ipconfig /flushdns and see if that works.

When I try to access the main GB-PVR page at http://www.gbpvr.com/ , I get a page full of info about "PHP Version 4.3.9".

Try clearing out your DNS cache as above. The old IP address is probably pointing to a newly provisioned server, not the new GBPVR server.

I'm running debian linux at the moment, so that command doesn't work. Also, I just rebooted, wouldn't that clear the cache?

I'm not all to familiar with the Linux stack so I don't know if it retains cache info in a file until the TTL expires or not. Ping http://www.gbpvr.com and compare it to the IP address I posted in post #2. That is the address of the current server.
