I am using GBPVR v9808 but am getting an oddity with the VMR9 render that I can't seem to solve. I have various Xvid encoded avi's that have a 640x352 size. Giving a 20:11 ratio. So I have GBPVR set to Fill mode but for some reason it always starts the file unstretched at the correct aspect ratio (so it looks scrunched on the screen).

If I then cycle the modes using F7 (which I wish I could do via the remote) then when I return to Fill mode being properly stretched over the screen. Any idea on what I am doing wrong to cause this? Curiously the VMR 9 Custom render path doesn't do this but I can't use it because it tears on playback.

I am assuming I have got some idiot setting with my codecs somewhere but am at a loss as to what it is...

Any thoughts or advice gratefully accepted.

Can you try playing one of these files, then zip and attach the gbpvr.exe-native.log file?

I can't help you with the AVI, but, this thread will show you how to map the F7 key to the # button on a hauppauge remote.

I don't *think* I have a haupage remote. This remote is a Cyberlink USB one that came with PowerDirector and an ATi 550 TV card. I've tried reading the instructions on doing the remapping for them and I must admit they don't make a lot of sense to me yet.

Wrt the avi's, my guess would be it's a ffdshow thing. You might try changing some settings. Open ffdshow-video decoder config,
Then you get the following:

Try changing this setting and see what happens. Or try another videocodec.

Yes, I also suspect its related to ffmpeg - probably trying to do the aspect ratio control itself.

Well every option in ffdshow is turned off when it comes to aspect ratio scaling. What makes the issue odder is that if I run GBPVR on the primary display then all is well. But if I use Hydravision to push the GBPVR window over to the secondary display (aka the TV) then this problem occurs. Which makes me wonder if perhaps GBPVR is assuming something about the screen shape and size?

I have tried using the configuration option to force GBPVR to open directly on the second display but it just remains on the primary when I set that.

Checking further you guys are entirely correct. If I set the Xvid decoding in ffdshow to disabled and let DivX 6 handle matters then all is well. But I *also* have to turn advanced hardware overal in Divx6. Which I don't quite understand. But at least the problem is solved. Thanks for the help.
