VLC doesn't play!

I have just installed VLC on both GBPVR machine, and my remote laptop, and have enabled the port 7646, however whenever I try to connect via the 'Stream' link on 'Manage Recordings', VLC just attempts to connect for about 10 seconds, then gives up. I have selected to use VLC as my player in Config - not WMP, as WMP didn't even seem to understand the file format.

I note that once I've told GBPVR to 'Stop Streaming', when I try to connect, I actually get an error message, so I presume something is getting throught...

Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Port 7646 is for the guide. When you want to stream with vlc you have to open another one: tcp 7648. (I guess that's the default one) but you can check on the ewa-config page under streaming settings.

Correct....7648 is the defualt port for streaming.

Sorry, I mean't 7648 - I have enabled that one, and it still doesn't work!
