The video is stuttering when I play live tv. I have been having some problems with itunes doing this and have been going through a nightmare of a time with their support team. I just uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it in order to try to fix the problem. It didn't work so I go to GBPVR to watch tv and try not to pull all my hair out when to my consternation what should I find but that now it's happening in GB-PVR with live tv. I'm sure it's something that itunes screwed up but now I have to figure out how to fix gb-pvr. I tried just uninstalling itunes completely but it doesn't seem to have fixed the problem. On another note I think I'm just going to go back to getting pirated video and music what a frickin nightmare itunes 7 is.

Is this the first time you've installed GBPVR or have you had it working before? it sounds very much like a problem I'm having, but I don't think it is necessarily related to iTunes.

Sorry should have done posted system specs and logs initially. Acidfiend2003, no this isn't the fist time I've installed gbpvr and actually it's been running fine for quite a while now before it started doing this. It's possible that it's not itunes related I just know that I having been having a similar problem with itunes and I only started having the problem after it started there. I also had some problems with WMP 10 after upgrading to itunes 7 I had to go in and change a bunch of settings to get it working properly again.

System specs are:

CPU Type: compaq pressario s5000nx 2.5ghz
Memory: 1gb ddr
Motherboard Chipset: ASUS P4G533
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9250 256 DDR
Video Card Driver: ATI Radeon 9250 8.252.0.0
Video Card Resolutiion: 1024x768
Video and Audio Decoder: I'm not really sure on these I just have it set in the config to use the system default but it has always run fine and I haven't changed these.
TV Card: Haupauge pvr-150
TV Card Type: Hardware
TV Card Driver: 2.0.35.23258
I'm using version version 98.8B

Log Files:
These are just the one from the most recent time I tried watching it which was just a few minutes ago.

There is no really obvious cause in the logs.

I'd try switch from VMR9 Custom to VMR9 or Overlay. If that doesnt help, look into the posts about the quartz.dll problem.

I had the video stuttering during live tv (pc only mvp was fine). I realized the problem was probably related to the auto install of WMP10. All of my codecs were unacceptable according to dccheck.

I download the Nvidia Purevideo demo codec. The difference was dramatic. I think that I will end up purchasing it when the 30 days are up. Unless someone has a better free alternative.

I forgot to post on this but apparently it was in relation to itunes in some way. I disabled itunes helper and ipod service and it resolved the problem. I can't really figure out what it is that itunes is doing. It doesn't really seem to be using all that much of my system resources and since it didn't do this until I updated too it's something new. But I tried downgrading and while it did clear it up on the itunes end it was still creating problems with GBPVR. I'm just going back to getting pirated video it looks like. I can play it in whatever I want and it doesn't mess up my system.

Just a thought: Could it be the Ipodprogram was trying to signal changes to your media dirs. When your livetv dir was being "watched" by the Ipod program it would be busy all the time.

I don't really know. You can't really watch live tv through itunes so I don't know why it would be trying to interact with that but it on instalation it does try to set itself up as the default player for just about everything. I'm pretty sure that I didn't allow it to but who knows. That whole program is just a mess. I can't tell you how much time I spent with their support team trying to just get it to play the products I had bought specifically from them properly. It still baffles me how free software like GB-PVR has 100% better support then most of the software that you have to pay for.

It's really unfortunate too because it was a convenient way to catch shows that I maybe missed with my pvr but the experience has really soured me on them. I know if you go to their forums there are a lot of people experiencing the same or similar problems. Maybe they'll fix it with later releases. I hope so.
