As title, whats really good for media centres and available in the UK. Needs to have a good range (at least 5m and not quoted by the manufacturer, actually working at 5m).

Also what remote to go with, idealy i would like some thats programmable so i can control my tv, pc running gbpvr, the lights (i'm getting one of those remote control light switches) and looks good with many 'custom' buttons.

Cheers all!Smile

Dunno about remotes, but I'm thinking of getting one of these:

My ultimate plan (maybe next year) is to run my PVR with GBPVR to an HDTV of somekind at a resolution that I'll also be able to use to surf, msn & email with using that wireless keyboard/touchpad.

I was able to get a cheap wireless keyboard and mouse combo on ebay. I can use this one 10+ feet from the TV. The nice part is the mouse is a trackball right on the keyboard.

Additionally, this works well with my blinky app so can see what's recording by looking at the receiver.

Ooo never thought about an intergrated pointing solution! (How geeky do i soundSad Big Grin)

Unfortunatly i can't stand touchpads! So it looks like the good ol intergrated trackball solution!... Only prob is the only decent looking one i can find in the UK is this one. Bit pricey for a keyboard init!

As for remotes, you might want to look at the Logitech Harmony series.

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produc...078?ad=hmf

I have a Harmony 520 and it's truly replaced all 5 of my entertainment center remotes. The 'activity' function is a no-brainer for my non-techie family. Just point and select the activity and the remote sets it all up with one button press. It was a bit tricky setting it up... uses your PC and a usb port/cable... but it's a really a nice system.

Ruddy heel mate. Thats some serious remote! Pricey too (i'm a cheap skate at heartBig Grin). Altho they are nice, will have to do some research on the options available and whether i'd actually use any of the addition features. The CA M1+ might do the job (and i'm a cheapskate!)!

Cheers for the heads up tho, definatly a serious contender!

/edit
Was looking at the 880 model, lol!
