.Net 2.0 Security Update and lockup Wierdness

Following a recent .Net 2.0 Security Update a recording program locked up and some serious wierdness appeared in the logs, specifically

GBPVRRecordingService.exe-2.log
and
gbpvr.exe-3.log

It looks like code, rather than a log... :confused: . Anyway I lost half the recording ER12 EP7 :mad: , but after a reboot and chkdsk by WinXP, the 2nd half started and completed OK (I think).

Thats bizzare. Its the source code to the web admin.

I assume the problem has gone away now, and it was only any issue immediately after applying the patch?

Well I won't know until the next recording I guess, but hopefully you won't get a rash of these as folks update .Net 2.0. The bl**dy thing wouldn;t update (update failed - I SOOO hate that) so I had to uninstall .Net 2.0 and GBPVR, reinstall .Net 2.0 update it and then GBPVR again. Maybe something happened in THAT process :o

I came across the following dialog that explained how to get the KB922770 update to install.

Should I have uninstalled and reinstalled GBPVR? I didn't and the process below seemed to let the KB922770 install and GBPVR seems to still work.

After that, please perform the following suggestions to reinstall .NET
Framework 2.0 and the update for it.

Step 3: Reinstall .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package and the
updates for it

Package from the following link and save it to the Desktop.

2. When the File download window appears, please click the Save button, and
follow the directions to save it to the Desktop. After downloading the
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 setup file and the updates on your Desktop, please
double-click the files to manually install them one by one.

After that, please restart your computer and access the Windows update site to
test the issue.
