McBainUK,

If I am reading correctly, this plugin only supports the loading and displaying of pre-existing calendars, correct? If so, do you have any plans to add the ability to add events to a calendar from within the GBPVR gui?

It would be pretty cool to be able to define your own events from within the gui, and even have configurable reminders (configurable as to the time beforehand it reminds you) with maybe a video plugin portion that will popup a small reminder in an OSD while a video is playing.

I downloaded the source, but haven't really looked at it yet, but if these are things you are planning, maybe I could help out with some of it as my time allows.

Yes.

Not at the moment. The ical format is pretty complicated, that together with showing calendars via GBPVR and GDI+ graphics makes things tuff. Writing iCal would be just as difficult, and making up a calendar plugin format would be silly.

I've been concentrating on making the iCal parser better and improving the calendar GUI but have been busy with other projects to be honest. Feel free to do whatever you want with the source. Post/PM if you have any more questions/thoughts. Smile

I love the idea of this plugin! Is it possible to view calendars that are not public? I would like to keep my calendar password protected, but also be able to view it using this plugin. Can the password be incorporated to the "source" line?

Thanks for the hard work. The wife acceptance factor has been increased!

You can view a private calendar. There is a way to find the link to your private calendar and use it.

On google's calendar site...
Click "manage calendars", click on the calendar you want to view (you may have more than one, I don't know). Then, on the details page, you will find at the bottom you can find the html code for your private address.

Paste that address in the config setting of the calendar plugin.

Just tried out the calendar plugin. When I access it by MediaMVP it starts out with the Basic Calendar and then I have to click on "Calendars" to load mine. Is there a way so that it automatically comes up with the calendar that I created?

I am having trouble installing the Calendar plugin. I put C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Plugins directory and the skin folder in the the .dll file in the C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\FBHV - FlatOrb (because that is the skin I am using). I opened the GBPVR Config utility and the Calendar plugin was not listed with the other plugins under the plugin tab (talk about a tounge twister). What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
David

The skin file needs to be put in skin/your current skin/Calendar/

If it doesnt appear in the config app I suspect you are missing some of the required files detailed on the wiki page. Namely UI Elements and Common Utilities.
