Ok, I took a break from this project and I ended up not being able to watch LIVE tv and I'm still not able to.

Some facts:
- I've used different decoders (maybe 3 different ones)
- When i record a show, it WILL play back in GBPVR.
- Im not using MVP
- Im pretty certain both capture card (Happauage 500 dual) are config. correctly becasue I am able to record.

Sub, I know you've helped me with this and you got stumped. If you can plz look at my logs once more (or anyone) I'd appriciate it.

Attached are my logs and my configuration.
The logs are very fresh.

hopeflickering,

if subs stumped i guess you're at the point of 'stabs in the dark' so heres one experience i had which sounds similar.

If you cast your eyes at the spec in my sig, you'll see i run my nova-t and 350 into one pci slot by using a pci riser card. the first pci riser card worked absolutly fine until i tried watching tv from the 350 at which point id have a blue screen/self reset... swapped the riser for a different make, and with the new one, if the 350 was in the top slot id have exactly the same symptoms as you. bunging it in the bottom slot with the nova-t in the top slot fixed the problem, which apparently was something to do with how the riser card was managing bandwidth between the cards, and my motherboard not liking it.

Ive not heard of a similar thing happening to these pvr500 dual tuner cards, but im told they are effectivly two 150s on the same card, so maybe theres something similar going on in your setup? maybe it would be worth seeing if you can get hold of a single 150 and seeing if it plays with your hardware?

be warned though, as i say its a complete stab in the dark...:o

Thanks ricklos,
Im almost tempted to just buy a couple 150s. Im sitting here trying all different configurations including reinstalling drivers, video drivers, decoders.
I've noticed that in the GBPRV root directory there is a file called "black.mpg". Im pretty certain that this is the file that loops a blackish/grey video when I try to watch live TV.

try renaming another mpg to black.mpg and see weather your right...ive always assumed that was there to be displayed while video was being buffered or something along those lines, but im probably wrong lol
