Can I get some suggestions on the cheapest way to get output to a TV from a PC?

I have a WinTV PVR2 that works fine, but I can only watch things on the computer. I would love to get video to output to my TV so I can watch things on a bigger screen you know.

A lot of <$100 video cards have S-video out these days, however that being said, you get what you pay for! You could spend ~$60-100 and get an MVP and use that as your GBPVR -> TV interface..

J
//// GBPVR \\\\
Abit
2.8GHz Proc
1 GB RAM
80 GB SATA sys volume
200 GB SATA Video Storage
3x PVR150s
2x MVPs - 100Mbps LAN attached

/// Music Server \\\
CentOS Samba Server
(moving to Video Server to be MediaServer Smile )

/// Video Server \\\
FreeNAS
1TB total storage
<to be renamed MediaServer>

Also depends on what inputs your TV has. If you're old school and only have coax or composite, you'll need to look into an RF Modulator as well as a video card that has the SVideo or Composite outputs. If you've got a new TV with Component, HDMI-HDCP, DVI or VGA inputs, you have quite a few (all better) options.

I use the VGA input, it's easiest, no fussing with signal scan issues. You just hook it up like a PC monitor, set the correct resolution (like you would for any other monitor) and voila....

I use s-video, card cost less than £20. It also has DVI output for plugging into a TV with DVI input. HDMI is basically DVI with audio built in which many HD tv's have.
