Hi!
I've been running GBPVR because I don't have a better PC DVR output solution to drive my home video distribution system. I've been running the RF output (TV Out) of my Hauppauge PVR-350 card into a premium RF modulator, with the output of that entering a dual-input video distribution amplifier that combines with a standard RF antenna source and connects to all of my SD TVs in the house. This setup works great for what I have, but now I'm thinking about buying a large 720P LCD TV - and I'm trying to figure out how to upgrade.
What I want to do is buy a PCI card (all my Dell supports, along with the onboard VGA video) that I can use to connect to the new LCD TV and start running PVRX2 - PLUS allow me to use the LCD as a PC monitor for browsing, etc.), but still find a way to convert/connect/whatever the output to keep feeding my video distribution amplifier for all of the other SD TV's in the house. I'm not sure if I should be looking for some high quality VGA card, one that has DVI/HDMI outputs, or both - or even if there's a PCI card that will do this.
I think I'd want to find some way to use PVRX2 for outputting to both the home RF distribution AND the LCD TV. However, I can't find a very good scan converter (at least that looks as good as the PVR-350 video out) or some way to convert DVI/HDMI video output to RF to feed into my video distribution. I might have to switch between PVRX2 and GBPVR when I want to driving the SD TVs - unless there's a way to do both. Has anyone done this, or can offer a solution or some advice? Sadly, I only have one slot left in my Dell Dimension 2400.
Thanks!
