Whats a Good card for a notebook that supports gbpvr? I am getting a notebook friday and want to use this software.

I have cable TV, and they provide free local HD channels over cable. I think this card would work for that but will the software work?

No, it wouldnt. Very few cards support digital cable. The only one of these compatible with GB-PVR is the OnAir USB HDTV GT. (the only other card that do digital cable are the fusion ones, but their proprietary approach to digital cable does not work with GB-PVR)

thanks for the reply. I did email hauppauge and they said HD digital cable USB devices will be coming early next year 2007. So I will wait for them and hope gbpvr will support them.

I believe a card has been released to do what I want.

My goal was to view my HD channels on my notebook which is provided by my cable company. They offer the local channels free, not encrypted.

This card seems to do that.

Now the question is will gbpvr support it?

Yes, GB-PVR supports this card with digital cable or digital OTA. It does not support the analog side of the device.
