Thanks for the information. However, I'm unable to get the activity on the remote to be sent to GBPVR or any of the other programs. I must be missing something. When HIP installs by default has the ATI and Girder checked. I tried with the Ati alone with no luck and with both no luck either. I don't even get it to do mouse functions like I can with RWkeymaster. I am running this under Windows Vista Home Premium I don't know if that makes a difference.

well, I'm not sure if HIP works with Vista...but here's how I got it working in XP (from what I can remember, I haven't set it up from scratch in two years or so).
Install HIP, install the ATI remote wonder software, import the HIP plugin to the ATI remote wonder software, configure the RW plugin (I let the ATI software control the volume, arrow keys and enter). Now, all the RW commands will be sent to the HIP plugin and no other plugin will work. In HIP, configure it to a generic input (I think)...then you can start making profiles for different software like GBPVR, VLC or something like that. Follow the instructions in the GBPVR wiki. You should get hip to map key presses. Good luck. Let me know if you need more help. Jam.z

I use Eventghost and have built up a data file for that with mouse control and 90% of GBPVR's functions.
If anyone is interested I'll post the file.

huh?
it all depends on what you are using to grab input from the RW, if youre using the ATI software you can use RWkeyfactory and customize the configuration to your hearts content. sub Wrote:Are you trying to make sure I get nothing done today?

Eventghost with the ati RW installed on basic X10 drivers works fantastically well

Even though our solution Intelliremote is not free we think it is the easiest one out there for using your X10 based remotes like the ATI Remote Wonder. If you have tried other solutions and have been frustrated I recommend you give our trial version a try.

Just like to say GBPVR rocks as far as it's streamline setup and stability. I tried MediaPortal, thought it would be fun, but found the GBPVR is the app which has everything I need.
For the ATI Remote Wonders, mines a RW+ the easiest way to go about setting it up is installing the RW software from ATI, I've got version 3.04 which seems to be pretty dependable. Then go download this nearly impossible plugin: http://www.bumderland.com/KeyMapper.html This plugin will even give you access to those keys they don't want you to have access to. It's got all the buttons plus some, and best of all as far as I can tell it's free. Once you figure out how to use it it takes about 30 minutes to setup your remote like it should be. Not sure if this works with the X10 remotes, but I will probably get one soon. Hope this saves some time for others trying to setup their Remote Wonders. |
