Hi,

I'm trying to configure GB-PVR with a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T-USB2 DVB-T Receiver. I've followed the Wiki however no channels are found.

Can anyone advise where I'm going wrong please?.

The following entry has been added to bda.ini....
Whether or not this is correct for a DBV-T Receiver I'm not sure.
Whether or not one of the devices already in the bda.ini file should work with a WinTV Nova-T-USB2 I'm not sure.

[Hauppauge Nova-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=Hauppauge Nova USB2 DVB-T TV Receiver
FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge Nova USB2 DVB-T TV Receiver
PIN_TUNER_IN=Antenna
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

The filder tuner and filter capture names were found using GraphEdit.
As far as I'm aware I've installed BDA drivers for my WinTV Nova-T-USB2.

Clicking on 'Only show devices detected on this machine' defaults on the Hauppauge Nova-T that I've entered into the bda.ini file.

Recording Source has been selected as: BDA Recording Plugin
EPG Source: XMLTV Plugin
Channel Changer: No Channel Changer Required

There are 10-channels that I've selected using XMLTV. An XML file has been generated and the 10-channels are listed under 'Edit Recording Source' Channels category.

Should the 'Enabled' box be checked for all of the listed channels?.

Clicking on 'Map digital channels to EPG channels' produces the following informatio:

Scanning 1 of 6 (is this correct?).
c30,
c34,
c40,
c50,
c43,
c46

No channels found. Please check your signal and configuration settings.

I'm not sure whether or not the correct channels are being scanned.

I'd really appreciate your suggestions as I'd like to get GB-PVR working.

Thank you.
Kind Regards.

Can confirm that DVB-T Receiver works with wintv2000.

zip and attach your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log after a scan and I'll take a look.

Hi Sub. Can find only a Config.exe-native.log Sad.

There are four in all config.exe-native.logs. Guess that this is because I've done four scans. Cannot find a Config.exe.log though Sad

I'm guessing its something to do with these:
Quote:15:27:38.525 VERBOSE About to auto detect correct tuner filter
15:27:38.525 VERBOSE Unabled to detect medium. Using GUID_NULL...
15:27:38.535 VERBOSE Looking for associated filter
15:27:38.815 ERROR FAILED to auto detect correct tuner filter
Quote:15:27:40.918 ERROR Failed to start BDA Graph
15:27:40.918 VERBOSE ERROR_DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED

Why didnt you use the existing "Hauppauge Nova-T USB2" card selection that GB-PVR defines by default? You shouldnt have to define your own new bda.ini section for this device.

Its definition was:

[Hauppauge Nova-T USB2]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Hauppauge Nova USB2 DVB-T TV Receiver
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Antenna In Pin
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

You should find this is already listed in you bda.ini file.

I can confirm the nova-t usb2 works fine in gbpvr, infact I can confirm the 909, 90002 and the stick versions all work fine. I reckon hauppauge should give me some free cards the amount of products that I have purchased of theirs over the years and the recommendations Wink

Hi,

Apologies I'd not realised there was an entry in the bda.ini file for a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T-USB2. What'd caused confusion initially was due to the fact that I'd chosen 'Direct Recording Plugin' as opposed to 'BDA Recording Plugin' which is why I could not find an entry for this particular DVB-T Receiver.

Please bear with me as I am a GB-PVR newbie and there's a lot to take in.

Kind Regards.

Hi, Thank you for confirming that this particular DVB-T Receiver should work using GB-PVR. Much appreciated. Any idea's whether or not two of these can be connected to a PC to build a Twin-Tuner PVR?.

Some channels have now been found however there are very few that have been found. Do I need to manually add channels that I should be able to receive under XMLTV?.

Any idea's how I can get EPG data automatically retrieved using XMLTV or GB-PVR?.

Thank you.

Assuming the drivers can cope with it, there is no reason why not. GB-PVR can certainly cope with it.

What channels are you missing specifically? In the UK there are a couple that only transmit during the day, so unfortunately you'll also need to do a scan during the day to do the mapping for those channels.

If an UpdateEPG.bat file exists in the GB-PVR directory, then it'll run it immediately prior to doing the automatic EPG updates. A lot of people run their xmltv grabber in this batch file.

Hi,

Some channels were found however GB-PVR fails to load Sad.

I can confirm that there are no other applications running (that i'm aware of).

Any idea's why GB-PVR won't load?.

Thank you.

Shall check what channels are missing and post here.

There's no UpdateEPG.bat file in my GB-PVR directory Sad.
Am I missing files in my GB-PVR installation as there was one file that you'd asked that I zipped and attached that wasn't present either?. The version I'm using is GBPVR09813
