Everything in web admin apears to work good except i can't schedual recordings. I get recording failed at the top of the page when i hit the record this episode button. Canceling pending recordings does work so i assume it is talking to the database.

First....are you using the Access Database or SQLite?

Second....after scheduling a recording and getting the failed message have you ever looked in the Manage Recordings to see if it shows up?

I assumed the new version 0.98.13b used SQL however you know what they say about assumptions. I will search around to see how to use SQL instead of access.

After playing around a little i have found that if i do everything from the head machine everything works fine but if i try to use the web admin or eaven use remote desktop i can't schedual. This just seems very weird to me so i am hoping the database type will be the solution.

Here are the logs. I am rebooting the head machine right now after running the change database program.

OK some small progress. Switching playback from VRM9 to overlay manager fixed the problem with getting things done with Remote Desktop. However, Web Admin still won't schedual recordings.

I need the logs from the sub directory that contains gbpvrpublic.dll. It will be one of the subdirectories under here:

There are no files in this directory.

They won't be in that directory...there will be a bunch of subdirectories listed under this directory....you need to go into each one of them (and I think there may also be sub-sub directories) and look for that DLL and the .log file.....

i appear to be having the exact same problem. i am also unable to schedule manual recordings. i don't get the "recording failed!" message in this case, it simply closes the scheduling window, but the recording never shows up in the manage recording tab. both of these functions work fine when i remote into the box and schedule recordings with the traditional gbpvr ui. thanks in advance for the help.

to answer the questions asked of the previous person who had this problem:

1. i don't know what database i'm using. i know that i'm using gbpvr v0.99.12 how do i check what database i'm using?

2. i checked the directory mentioned for log files. i found a directory with the dll in it, but the only other file in that folder is not a log file. there don't appear to be any .log files in any of the sub-directories under the parent directory mentioned. do i need to do something to enable logging?

If you find the gbpvrpublic.dll in the directory mentioned above there should be a sub folder called logs.....go into that and there you should see the log files. They used to be in the same directory as the dll but a recent gbpvr release moved them to the compliant \logs sub directory.....
