It would be really nice if GB-PVR had support for the Pinnacle Showcenter.

I have Hauppauge PVR-250 and a Showcenter - and if possible it would be great if I could control recordings with the Showcenter - so that I don't have to go to my pc to set up the recordings and of course have all the features of GB-PVR on the Showcenter.

Is this at all posible or do I have to keep dreaming.

I have been looking at the OpenShowCenter project, but the GB-PVR seems to be stable and better features.

I'm doing this project for free, so cant really justify buying anymore hardware (my wife would kill me), but if someone wants to donate a Pinnacle Showcenter then there is a good chance I could add support.

Sub,

Did you ever get a ShowCenter?

I have one of these and it works really well, it would be great if GBPVR supported ShowCenter.

One of the things missing from ShowCenter is support for live TV for non Hauppauge cards and especially DVB-S cards.

Also does GBPVR have support for DVB-S Common access modules (Cams)?

Many thanks,

David

Hello Sub,

Great program, thanks so much for your work. Any chance you'd take a Showcenter on loan to add support for it? I could send you mine for as long as you need it, but I would need it back again someday or else my wife would kill me.

Just a crazy thought,

Thanks for the offer, but sorry I have to decline. I have no plans to add support for the Pinnacle ShowCenter any time soon.

Actually this has been on the wish list for a long time under UPnP/AV support.
Now if the Showcenter is INMPR2.1 compliant, ie it has RemoteUI and at least XRT2.1 then it might be worth adding to GBPVR.

Basically RemoteUI/XRT2.1 would alow us to use the unit similar to the MediaMVP.

Oh yes - also one of my favorite dreams: GBPVR serves Pinnacle Showcenter
On my left hand site, under the table i´ve stored a box - inside there´s a sleeping pinnacle showcenter- waiting for a prince called gbpvr to kiss it for waking up :-) !!!
Maybe somedays this dream goes reality.
But for now we can only dream !

Just adding my 2 cents worth...

Currently using both my MVP with GBPVR for Live TV, TV recording and music - Works great. However I'm using my Showcenter with swisscenter server software ( http://www.swisscenter.co.uk ) for playing back my DVDs which I've ripped to my PC in VOBs format. Showcenter plays .VOBs and I've only just discovered these include all the soundtracks (i.e. multi languages and director's commentary) and all subtitles, in one file. Cool Showcenter also has RGB (or component) output and digital audio.

I too would love to see GBPVR on the Showcenter, but, at present I'm very happy with my setup. (Thanks sub !)
