I've installed mencoder for windows, not with the gui. in zprocess I've pointed it at the mencoder.exe file but when I try to choose preferred decoder the drop box only shows ffmpeg

I have the same problem!

I would love to have faster transcoding times with mencoder!

The way I wrote ZProcess is that it will only add MEncoder to the list for preferred transcoders, if it finds anything other than "Not Installed" under the 'Mencoder Path' text box on the directory tabs...

Have another look. Get back to me... Trying finding it again...

EDIT: C:\Program Files\mplayer\mencoder.exe

Well, I hate to point out the obvious... Smile

(It's New Year andf so I'm slow to respond - sorry - BTW - Happy New year!)

Does your Directories tab look like this (with c:\Program Files\mplayer\mencoder.exe instead of the line I have....?

If it is blank or say "Not Installed" then then MEncoder will not show up in the preferred transcoders drop down...

Same for me, it looks just like your screenshot except for the actual path I have mencoder installed in. The line is not blank and does not say "not installed". In the choose transcoder dropdown box it only shows ffmpeg, if I drop down the menu it shows ffmpeg at the top and a blank spot below it.
