Hi!

I have tried this wonderful application EWA to GBPVR.
Nearly everything works perfectly.
I have no sound when I stream from the host to a client.
If I try to play a recorded movie it works perfect.
Of course I have installed VLC both on the host (GBPVR server) and on the client.
Config under config page in EWA is as follows:

-- Streamer Configuration Settings --

VLC Location:
Stream Player: VLC
Open Stream in External Player
Common Streamer Options:
Video Bitrate: 256
Video Size: 480x320
Streamer Port: 7648
Streamer Buffer Size (ms): 5000
Streamer Process Priority: Normal
Streamer Transcode Options: MP4V/MP4A/MPEG-TS

I have no windows firewall on and I do my tests on a local LAN.

Any help, thanks

Best Regards

Start the stream and then stop it.
Then go to
Code:
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\gbpvr\4d107d39\801bf7b5\assembly\dl3
Drill down through the subdirectories until you find the one that contains the GBPVRPUBLIC.dll file
There should be a log file or a logs directory with a log in it
Open it up and go down to where you see the line that looks like the below:
Code:
1/11/2007 8:03:48 PM.105    INFO    [4]    ***********************
1/11/2007 8:03:48 PM.105    INFO    [4]    File Name Deserialized: \\Naslite-smbg\Disk-3\My Music\10,000 Maniacs\MTV Unplugged\01 These Are Days.mp3

Did you try to start a music stream before getting this log? There is no entry in the log for VLC even being initiated. The errors that are in the log now come from the gbpvrrecordingservice.dll in EWA looking for plugins that the windows GPBR has installed....you can get rid of them most times by copying the plugins from the GBPVR plugin directory to the EWA bin directory.

Let me know if you had initiated a stream prior to this log......

Hello I think I have the same problem. I can stream any saved video files without problem but when I try from the live feed, I have zero audio. I found the .dll but I can not find anything like you posted in it. Would it matter that I am streaming from GBRVP on an MS VLC side to an Debian VLC client? I don't beleive so but just wanted to put it out there. I included the file if it helps. Thank you in advance. Hope this comes out right first post on net and all.

What version of GBPVR are you running?

What version of EWA are you running? Hold your mouse over the GBPVR logo in the upper left-hand corner of any page and you should see a pop-up of the version.

What streaming settings are you using....screenshot would be good.

GB-PVR Build 0.99.x version: 1.58.59. I have tried the Video bit rate at lower settings, all of them but the sound still didn't stream. I think I need to tell VLC to use the audio from the capture card, not sure because the live feed is captured to the HDD first then streamed so,well I have no clue. Thank you again.

Ok....try the following settings.....you and see if it makes a difference....with these settings you can also change the audio to be MP3 if you like in case perhaps there is an issue with MP4 adio on the client you are using.....

I tried the settings you gave me and I had sound. It was a bit on the crummy side, but sound so thank you very much. I played with all the settings and so far on the Debian client the settings in the attached picture look and sound the best. They do seem to make the server work a bit, but thats what I made it for. One last question is it possible to save seperate settings some how for different clients. I have a few other things that I would like to connect to EWA but all need different settings it seems?

I'll have to think about the setings....I would need to move them to the cookie like some of the other settings......which is doable but is a pain to move.....

Try changing the H264 encoder to be default instead.....H264 is an MPEG4 encoder engine and since you are specifying MPEG1 I am not sure how it is handling the transcoding......
