Hi,

When I play an avi through mplayer classic I see the full widescreen, before GB-PVR used to play it exactly, now it seems to have zoomed in and I'm missing parts of the movie from the left and right.

Any ideas please?

Regards.

what happens when you press F7 (Change Aspect Ratio)

edit: Just noticed this was in the MVP forum... Perhaps Z-Process is what you are looking for...

Thanks for the suggestion but it works fine using the MVP sofware - it was also working on the previous release of GBPVR so it's this release.

I've just uninstalled/re-installed everything to confirm this.

Any idea where I can download the previous version of GBPVR please?

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. If I change the aspect ratio fron 4:3 to 16:9 in the config, nothing happens.

Should this be very hard?

Hiya

To set the aspect ratio you need to do this in the original hauppauge MPV softwear. I think this is then stored in the MPV.

The switch to gbpvr and the aspect ration will be correct on your TV

This is what I did to confirm the problem was the current release of GB-PVR:

1. Uninstalled GBP-PVR and Hauppauge MediaMVP software
2. Install Hauppauge MediaMVP software
3. Check aspect ratio is 16:9 - confirmed
4. Play widescreen movie - works
5. Install GB-PVR
6. Ensure aspect ratio settings are all 16:9.
7. Play movie - zoomed.

Now, when the movie starts for a split second it is widescreen then it stretches and zooms in.

Oh, and before I did all this I also un-installed all my codec/encoding files and re-installed these (I use the K-LITE codec pack), with numerous reboots in-between each process.

Regards.

What aspect ratio is set in your config.xml for your MVP. I don't know if sub has any control over the hauppage dongle's internal configuration, but maybe worth trying. Change it also in the MVP-standard entries.
Is your TV a 16x9 or 4x3 one?

I find my MVP gets "stuck" in a slightly zoomed in mode now and again. Power cycling the MVP gets it back to normal.

Thanks for your replies. OK, I checked the following file:

C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\config.xml

and searched on the string "mvp", and found this section:

<MVP16x9Mode>false</MVP16x9Mode>
<!-- 0=RGB,1=composite,2=svideo -->
<MVPOutput>1</MVPOutput>
<!-- position -->
<MVPWidth>640</MVPWidth>
<MVPHeight>500</MVPHeight>
<MVPOffsetX>44</MVPOffsetX>
<MVPOffsetY>40</MVPOffsetY>
</MAC-DEFAULT>
<MAC-000DFE008BF8>
<MVPVideoStandard>auto</MVPVideoStandard>
<MVPFlickerFilter>none</MVPFlickerFilter>
<MVP16x9Mode>false</MVP16x9Mode>

I will try changing each false to true and report back my findings.

My TV is 16:9.

Regards.
