I have moved this from the " Supporting the OnAir USB HDTV GT - Issues" thread in the Hardware Forum.

When I select an HD recording I get the message "Error: Failure playing back file". I am running v0.99.5.

I am currently using the "TS MUX" and I can play back the recording with Windows Media Player. I get the same results with "DVR-MS" muxer.

I have tried all three of my Video Decoder settings (System Default (DecChecker says it is the NVIDIA Video Decoder), Intervideo NonCSS Video Decoder and NVIDIA Video Decoder). Which of these should I be using?

I loaded the latest decoder update from Hauppauge.

I have thought about updating the NVIDIA Video Decoder but it looks like I would have to purchase NVIDIA Pure Video. I may try a trial version if I don't get any other ideas.

I am stumped and in over my head. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you apply the patch from post # 3 in the survival guide?

Thanks for your help stefan! I'm not sure how I missed the patch.

I have it working now! I'm not sure what combination of settings made it work but I installed the patch you referenced, changed my BDA Multiplexer to Microsoft DVR-MS, changed the MPEG-2 Video Decoder to InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder with VMR9 or VMR7 (both work).

I also had to set the MPEG-2 Audio Decoder also to InterVideo NonCSS Audio Decoder and Audio Renderer to System Default to get sound.

On to the next battle, now I just need to figure out why my HD NBC and CBS channels don't show up in GB-PVR to map to the EPG.

Thanks again!
