I tried to setup zprocess yesterday to run after recording from postprocessing.bat because my old postprocessing seems to have gotten messed up.

I want the following to happen:
-recording stops (works)
-run comskip
-make backup
-run comclean (i'd prefer videoredo but no biggie)
-transcode to xvid
-delete original
-delete backup after three days

Needs to run automatically.

I put the following line in PostProcessing.bat
Quote:call "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\ZProcess\ZProcess" "%~f1" comskip comclean transcode auto

The log file I get from zprocess for two shows last night is:

As you can see its failing comskip and not transcoding to xvid. I set the settings in zprocess when i opened it and saved the 2avi info I want. This is trying to use ffmpeg but once I have that working i'll switch to mencoder.

Furthermore, the folder with The O.C. has all the comskip files written for the show so I dont know why it thinks it didn't work.

Help?

Sorry for taking so long to answer. I'll be looking more closely at this issue Tomorrow. Your logs and description were very good, and I should have a solution for you shortly...

Oz... right out of the gate, I realized that I had broken some of the functions you wanted. It seems that if you are trying to transcode a MPG, the default profile is Trans2MVP. I'm working on that now. I think I will be adding switches to force profiles...

Check for my very next post here...

hey OZ... I fixed it for you (and others, I'm sure)

What follows is the PostProcessing.bat that I used to test. I'll be updateing the wiki shortt

Code:
@echo off

Set CmdLine="C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\ZProcess\ZProcess.exe" %1 comskip comclean transcode 2avi auto

c:
cd "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr"

echo.  >> PostProcessing.Log
echo ************************************** >> PostProcessing.Log
echo %date% %time% Processing %1 from Channel %2 >> PostProcessing.Log

echo %date% %time% Processing the following... >> PostProcessing.Log

echo %CmdLine% >> PostProcessing.Log
call %CmdLine%

goto eof

First off, get the newest version (880) from my signature or the wiki...

You'll notice that the "%~f1" was changed to %1. You may still have to play with that...

You change the CmdLine variable at the beginning. Then that should be it...

I have had to add something to the program. You now have to specify the transcode profile (in this case '2avi') (XVID is chosen already in the 2avi profile)

re: delete MPG after transcode...
the feature you asked for currently doesn't exist. But something close already does. From the Transcode tab, in the 'After Transcoding' drop down, choose 'Copy Out file to in folder and backup original'

That means the original MPG will be on your hard drive for however many Backup days you chose...

If you want to use videoredo, here's a sample ParallelProcessing.bat that will do it during recording, finishing much quicker, and taking far less processing power.
This will:
Run comskip
Make a backup (called showname.date.time_original.mpg)
Run Videoredo, using the comskip generated .vprj
Rename the show to it's "showname - episodename.mpg"
Then run the transcoding option in the checkbox in config, which uses PostProcessing.bat
Code:
@echo off
Rem ParallelProcessing.bat
Rem This script will be run automatically by GBPVR when found after a recording is finished
Rem To enable it put this file inside your GBPVR default program directory (C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\)
Rem together with Comskip.exe, Comskip.ini and Comskip.dictionary
Rem The script is called with two parameters
Rem %1 is the fully qualified name of the recorded mpeg file.
Rem %2 is the channel number of the recording
echo Parallelprocessing.bat invoked on %1 recorded from channel %2 >>Parallelprocessing.log

Rem The part below can be used to not run Comskip on certain channels, please modify for your conveniance.
Rem The channel numbers that should be skipped are the numbers between the double quotes ("").
Rem You can add "if" lines as much as you want
Rem To disable this behaviour use channel numbers outside the normal range, put a "rem" before the "if" or delete the "if" lines

this is how far the log has gotten, if its really a problem with comclean i think i'll just use my old postprocessing for videoredo and comskip then have this transcode:

Thanks for pointing that difference out. Yes that's the problem. When writing ZProcess, I read through all the other batch files, and wrote code that performs the same function. It is assuming that the comclean.bat will perform a certain way.

I have had no problems using the main comclean.bat... But that probably doesn't help you...

good to know thats the issue. I'll have videoredo cut the commercials before zprocess runs and that'll solve that Smile
