I have a pvr-250 already, and i want to add a second turner card so i can record and watch at the same time, or record 2 shows at the same time. Can i mix a 250 with a 150?
What if i don't setup the remote to work with the program, just to record shows. Will the program automatically switch to the second turner if it find that the first one is in use?
I have the exact same setup. I think what sub was trying to say is that you'll probably find you'll need to have the IR receiver plugged into the PVR150 instead of the 250. However, you can still control GBPVR with the remote and GBPVR will schedule using both cards, not just the 150.
Two IR receivers aren't supported by Hauppauge's software, so whether you can or cannot plug the IR receiver into the 250 should be immaterial.

My 250's analog tuner crapped out a couple years ago but it still works fine recording SVideo and component output from my STB. The 150 was a major PITA originally due to timestamp problems but eventual driver updates and well-known registry hacks finally fixed those problems. The 150's blaster works great for controlling the STB.
There's nothing lacking with how GB-PVR handles either one, that's for sure.
There's two registry entries you have to make - very simple. And while this fix became available quite some time ago, they are still necessary with the latest drivers from what I understand. Once I got the 150 to record without timestamp issues I haven't touched my drivers, but the posts I see about the most recent ones still require them.
There are a number of posts around here about what you have to do. Easy but annoying.
