Hi,
I thought of an idea to cope with the increasing number of buttons on the main menu since there are ever more VERY cool plugins and features, it doesn't fit on the main menu anymore. And sub doesn't like putting them in two or more columns.
But, (inspired by a mac), if all buttons are displayed smaller then is done now, except for the three in the middle:
small
small
Little bigger
BIG
Little bigger
small
small
And instead of scrolling the highligthed menu-item, scroll the menu. Pressing OK selects the BIG one.
This would work even better if it is made cyclic: if one item falls off at the bottom it reappears at the top of the menu and vice versa.
I know there can be a big discussion on whether <up> in this idea means scroll the menu one position up, or select the menu-item next above in the menu. I would say the latter one. But whatever is chosen, it may require two or three learning key presses, then you'll know forever...
It's just an idea.
Greetz,
MaBo
